WHAT IS MOBILE INTERNET?Mobile Internet project consists of two services: "StarPort" (WAP-access to the Internet) and "StarInet" (Traditional access to the Internet). The opportunity to get access to a global network is given to subscribers in two ways. WAP-access to the Internet is provided by the built-in microbrowser of a mobile phone. Traditional access one can get by means of a browser (for example Internet Explorer) and a portable computer. To provide access to Intenet GSM-data and GPRS technologies are used. WHAT IS WAP?WAP - Wireless Application Protocol. It allows to look through special pages in the Internet on the display of a mobile phone. Developers use special language called WML to write such pages ("usual" WEB-pages are written by means of language HTML). Also there is an opportunity of viewing WAP-pages in xHTML format supported by newest mobile phones (more colourful pages). To provide access to Intenet by means of a mobile phone GSM-data (also known as WAP-CSD) and GPRS technologies are used. WHAT IS GPRS?GPRS (General Packet Radio Service). It's newer and less expensive form of digital communication. It allows to achieve in GSM network data transmission speed up to 114 Kbps, while using GSM-data technology the speed of data transmission is 9,6 Kbps. Introduction of this technology allows to use resources of Internet in greater volume, to receive and transfer files much faster, to use m-commerce service and many other applications. WHAT ARE MOBILE INTERNET TARIFFS?When you use WAP-CSD you pay for the time spent on-line (1 min = 0.30 UAH).
In WAP-GPRS you pay for the amount of data sent/received (1 Mb = 10 UAH). HOW TO SET UP WAP ACCESS?There are 2 ways to setup WAP: manual and auto.

They are to be filled obligatory. - Don't use special symbols and spaces in your login. Login should consist of symbols A-z, 0-9, start from letter and end with either letter or a figure and contain not more than 20 symbols - The password must consist of more than 6 characters. HOW TO DELETE CURRENT PROFILE?You can easily delete your profile by choosing "delete profile" option. The system will require your confirmation. IS THERE AN OPPORTUNITY TO SEND A RINGTONE OR A LOGO DIRECT TO OTHER OPERATOR'S MOBILE NUMBER?According to StarPort features many services along with direct content sending service is accessible only for Kyivstar GSM subscribers.
